Bill Rodgers broke the record for the fastest time for an American to finish the Boston Marathon not just once, but twice, between 1975 and 1980. Apparently not busy enough with that and the New York Marathon, he took a quick break in 1977 to open up a store in Faneuil Hall with his brother Charlie. Still open and family-run today, the Bill Rodgers Running Center is a more personal alternative to large chain sports stores. Even if you cant run like Rodgers, you can at least get his advice on the best-fitting pair of shoes or the most comfortable windbreaker.
