In a former 1920s speakeasy, Newton eatery The Biltmore serves up great classics like fish 'n chips and steak tips, plus specialties like house-cured meats, housemade pickles, and lovely ale-steamed mussels. Their tasty bar snacks -- think lightly fried artichokes, bite-size meatballs, pub fries with gravy -- are a great complement to their sturdy-looking bar and seriously well-crafted cocktails. With such delicious food, two cozy dining rooms, newly updated Prohibition-era veneer, and a hustling, hilarious staff, its no wonder this noisy but breezy spot is a neighborhood favorite.
